How to hire a photo booth

Hiring a photo booth company can be tricky, and choosing the wrong one can be the difference in great photos you'll have forever and having no photos at all.

I think we can both agree, no one is out there hunting for a bad photo booth intentionally. Here's our top 3 tips on finding a photo booth vendor for you.

Let's use a photo booth instead of a ring light and cameras.

#1 Don't Throw Away Your Money

Over the last few years, photo booths have been commoditized. Cheap manufacturers sell "a business in a box" to people looking to make a quick buck. These people more often than not don't know what it takes to make your photos look good, don't know how their equipment works, and so on. It may be tempting to go with them because they may advertise a cheap rate. The reality is that they are "less expensive" because they don't know what they are doing.

#2 Invest in Good Photos

Events are all unique and special. Your wedding, your friend's 40th birthday, your kid's graduation party are just a small sample of the kinds of events where photos are taken. Often times the photo booth photos are the only take away people have from those events, and those photos need to be good.

We see too many bad photos, with cheesy props and ugly backdrops from events out there. In life, there are no retakes, so invest in good photos so that you have the best keepsakes possible!

#3 Get Creative or Go Classic

At your event, you need to have something that either is classic or is creative and interesting. In-betweens evoke a "blah" kind of moment in your event.

Now that you've committed to investing in good photos, and not going with the cheapest around, you need your photo booth to be timeless and classic or really deliver that WOW that gets people talking.

Backdrops, artwork, and technical photography are all ways to give that wow factor, and crafted and clean photo booths can evoke the classic feel.
